Projects 2012
Learning the "American Way"

RESEARCH PROJECT

We will be recruiting international participants for a research project that illustrates their cultural perspectives of training and education that was developed in the United States.

Our goal is to illustrate to American trainers, educators, and course developers why it is critical to address cultural differences in international learning programs!
Culturally Appropriate Instructional Design

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM in CAID

We will pilot a certificate training program on Culturally Appropriate Instructional Design, online and in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Participants will develop skills that are essential to training multicultural, multinational learners, addressing content, methods, and technologies.

The course is recommended for instructional designers, trainers, educators, facilitators, and course design project managers.
How to Train in Other Countries

GLOBAL TRAINING GUIDES

We will be publishing a series of booklets on "How to Train" in other cultures and countries, which will eventually be compiled into one manual.  We will begin with:

  • How to Train in China
  • How to Train in India
  • How to Train in Brazil
  • How to Train in the U.S.

Cases on Globalized and Culturally Appropriate e-Learning:
Challenges and Solutions

by Dr. Andrea Edmundson, CPLP

This book offers unique insights on how online learning can be adapted to the needs of learners in other countries and cultures. Dr. Edmundson, author/editor, has undertaken the challenging task of integrating the knowledge and experiences of two groups - corporate educators and academics - into this book. While their approaches to providing culturally appropriate elearning may seem averse, in truth, each benefits from the experiences of the other.
